Insurance & Billing
Charges at Tuscaloosa Surgical Center include procedure preparation, use of the procedure suite and recovery room and all medications and supplies. Charges do not include the physician's fee, lab fees, anesthesia fees or specimen evaluation fees. You will be billed for these separate items by the individual service providers.
Any identified deductible, coinsurance or co-payment amounts will be collected the day of surgery. In addition to cash and checks, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover with credit card approval on the date of payment. GE Care Credit is also an available option for some patients.
You will be asked to provide your medical insurance information. After your procedure, we will file your insurance claim for you. If you have a specific question regarding your coverage, we suggest that you contact your insurance company. Any additional amounts not paid by your insurance company will be billed to you. Payment of these charges is expected within 30 days.
It is your right as a patient to request information or have questions answered regarding fee or payment policies. If you have any questions or problems regarding your bill, please contact our business office. The business office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
